what's the teacher's name?
This is the late, great Larissa Chaddick. As you can see, she was a wonderful teacher; kind, patient, encouraging, and particularly gentle with complete beginners, which is why we chose her to teach this class. Although none of us knew it at the time, not even Larissa herself, this would in fact be the last dance class she ever taught, as shortly after she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She fought hard and bravely, for several years, never losing her joy for life or her lovely warm smile. The bastard disease claimed her the day before her 39th birthday. Via this recorded class, we are all lucky to still be taught by her, to dance along with her ~ her legacy to us. x

Yes, it can be tricky to hear the right beat to start off on, but you'll get used to it the more you dance to different tracks. Keep dancing!

Dear Annette I've seen your recent messages about a possible purchase and, behind the scenes, have been trying to arrange that for you. Unfortunately, try as I might, I haven't been able to find a way to get you the whole class. Our 'Video on Demand' service closed a while ago, along with our online shop for DVDs. I can only suggest that you perhaps keep an eye out for a secondhand dvd copy of the class on eBay... In spite of not being able to get you the whole class, please may I thank you sincerely for your love of this class? You have brought back many happy memories of filming this with the wonderful Larissa, in what none of us realized would be her last ever taught class. Shortly after this was recorded, she was diagnosed with the breast cancer that despite incredible strength and courage, finally claimed her the day before her 39th birthday. So I do hope that, in whatever format, you can continue to learn from her and enjoy her class. That is always the most fitting legacy for a talented dance teacher.
